Who operates Classroom Cam

Classroom Cam is operated by Noah Moberg. Questions about privacy or deletion can be sent to noahmoberg424@yahoo.com.

Camera video

Camera video travels directly from the iPhone to the browser selected by the private pairing code. Classroom Cam’s signaling server does not receive, view, record, or store the video. The app does not capture audio.

Temporary connection data

The service processes the minimum information needed to establish and protect a connection:

  • Single-use pairing tokens and session credentials are held in server memory while a session is active.
  • WebRTC signaling messages, including connection descriptions and network candidates, pass through the server only to connect the paired devices and are not logged or persisted.
  • Network addresses are held in memory for up to one minute to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
  • An unused pairing expires after ten minutes. Reconnection credentials expire after a disconnected device has been absent for 60 seconds. Active session data is deleted when the session ends or the server restarts.

Information kept on your devices

The browser keeps its temporary session credential in session storage, which is scoped to that browser tab. The iPhone app keeps its temporary credential in memory. Classroom Cam does not create an account or store these credentials in a persistent database.

Service providers

Fly.io hosts the website and signaling service and necessarily processes connection metadata to deliver that service. Google’s public STUN service processes network-address information so WebRTC can discover a direct path between the phone and browser. These providers process information under their own privacy terms. Classroom Cam does not sell information or use it for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

Classroom use

The camera may show students, student work, or other classroom surroundings to the paired browser. Educators and organizations are responsible for using the camera appropriately, obtaining any consent their policies or applicable law require, and controlling who can see the paired browser.

Your choices and deletion

You can stop a stream at any time by tapping End in the app or closing the receiver. Because Classroom Cam has no accounts or persistent session database, there is normally no stored account or video data to delete. If you contact support by email, you may ask Noah Moberg to delete that correspondence.
